Climate activists protest outside the Annual General Meeting of oil giant Shell at the Excel Centre in docklands, calling on the company to drop its plans to expand extraction of the fossil fuels responsible for global heating if we are to meet Paris climate targets on CO2 reduction and temperature increases. Dozens of activist shareholders were also removed after protesting inside the premises. The company has enjoyed enormous profits while consumers faced record energy prices.
